If I had found this forum before my danby purchase I would have bought a used freezer and converted it. I had paid $500 new for the danby, now +$90 for external temp controllers. At $399 it's tempting. The danby is energy efficient and quite and with external control and tower cooling, works great. Just do your home work and make the best choice for you
I have a question on what is best for me to do about buying a new kegerator. I presently have an old commercial type two tower Perlick, that is on its last leg have to do a lot of work just to keep it going. Called Sams they have kegerators for $399.00 I think they are Danby, am reasonably handy with tinkering. I will be able to use my old regulator and other stuff, as I will be taking it to the dump. What do you suggest I buy to get cold beer, even if I have to mod it?
