I recently threw an event (wedding) away from my home, and consequently away from my kegerator. I figured i could dis-assemble my kegerator and take the CO2 tank, Regulator, and Coupler, and attach a party pump hose to dispense (
http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-...pid-BL-2.html). all the fittings and everything worked, and it appeared that this would be an ideal set up for a "mobile" tap system. boy was i wrong, no matter what i dropped the the pressure down to, the beer came out like a squirt gun. it led to a lot of very unhappy party guests (and forced a lot of people to drink wine).
has anyone else tried this set up? It looked like it should have worked, i can't figure out why it didn't, does anyone have better knowledge of setting these things up that can offer some insight?
unfortunately, the other cause could have been that someone didn't shut the tail of my truck correctly, and as i was pulling out of my driveway to take the kegs to the event, one fell out as i accelerated. the event though was more then five hours later, and the beer was still spraying out very fast, even a day later. i don't think this is the cause mainly because we were running two kegs off the same CO2 tank, and only one was dropped, but both had the same problem (high velocity beer).
