Default MicroMatic's Kegerator BC-1206S

Just curious about the compressors on these units they sell (product info has no detail). Are these units made for full time at home use, or more for just entertaining/occasional use? My plan was to buy the conversion kit and a used fridge, but I may now have an opportunity to purchase a gently used one, but I don't want to buy one and just burn it out. My use intention is for draft beer at home 24/7.

I'd think the compressor on par with most kegerators designed for home use on the market. And from what I saw on the product page: http://www.micromatic.com/product.aspx?pid=BC-1206S It looks pretty well built. Buying a blower to cool the tower wouldn't be a bad idea for this unit but that isn't that big of a hurdle to jump.

I keep beer on tap in my Danby 24/7 365 a year and I drink regularly as well as throw a few parties for as few as 6 people to as many as 30. I'd not think the amount of beer you dispense would be a factor in how the compressor or internals function.

thanks for the input, psychodad. after my original post, having read further in yours and other posts, it sounds like there is a hec of a lot of modifications going on out there for those using them in general to be happy with them (even if they have nothing to do with compressors), and will likely go with my original intention of just ordering the kit and picking up an extra used fridge. The smaller size and portability (for hunting camps, bring it outdoors in summer, etc.) is what lured me more toward them.

The modification seem to be mostly to the lower end ones such as Danby Avanti, etc. All I would expect this one to need would be the blower and it may not need that. Also taking the unit outside for a party WILL tax the compressor a bit more unless it was designed for outdoor use.
