Default Drain Line Installation

I want to route the drain tubing back through the front door of my fridge to a holding bottle.

After cutting the holes, do you just run the flex tube through and silicone around the holes or do you use PVC or copper or some other "shank" that you run the tube through for support?

Any help would be appreciated.

Bill

Hey,
When I built mine I simply ran the line and sealed it. It has been working great now for a year. I used a 4 gallon waterjug. only thign you have to watch for is that the line going into the container is fastened somehow, otherwise you will one day realize that the beer you just poured down the drain is now on the floor of your fridge and runnign onto your feet. Not so much fun. I just put a faster around the tube on the inside of the countainers lid that was bigger then the hole, not lettign the tube pull out . No more problems.

I wouldn't think you'd need a "shank" to support the tubing.

The purpose of the "shank" for your faucet is due to the that you'll be yanking on the handle/faucet which could damage the fridge.

I agree with brewski121. Make sure you attach that hose to your jug. Also, allow enough slack in the hose so you can open the door of the fridge.
