Default Ball Bearing

I just purchased a new Keg Fridge (Avanti) and the keg froze up overnight. When I took the tap off of the keg, there was still a little pressure and it shot off a little more quickly than i would have like it to. After I soaked up the small amount of beer that sprayed everywhere, I found a small glass/plastic ball bearing. sitting on top of the keg. I am not sure if this bearing is vital since everything seems to be in working order. Any ideas???

sounds like the ball that goes in the coupler to keep the beer from going back in the keg
