Default newbie with big ideas but shallow pockets.

I just turned 21 so its about time to get my drink on at home, finally. A friend needs to get rid of a deep freezer so i offered to buy it for 50 bucks. Well my idea was make it a kegerator of course. The only thing is im a liquor drinker so i want best of both worlds. I want to put bud light (what my roommates drink) and for me a mixed drink keg or a liquor dispenser . Now reading through the forum i have learned a lot about building one. The question is how do i get liquor from bottles in the freezer to dispense out the top? I can put a mix in a carny keg but i like more then just one mixed drink. Also coke is not the only mix i want mountain dew is great with wide eye and all so what to do?

While the idea sounds cool, I fail to see the practicality of it. Store the bottles and mixers inside and pour at will.

but its hard to pour when drunk. spilling beer and liquor is not the idea im going for. but a coke tap, beer tap, and a liquor tap unit is what i really want. The dreams still big but i think i can do it.

to the op, if you got a freezer on top style fridge, you might be able to put the bottles upside down in the freezer connected to a hose that went down to a tap in the fridge door. like a gravity feed system, then have the keg with another tap in the door in the fridge on bottom.

Awesome bit of inventive engineering work there. But I'm getting a feeling that some where into the 2nd bottle of Sour Mash getting the flow to stop at the little white line on that little glass cup is ballpark at best and a small lake at worst. Engineer a way to detach and use the measured oz. dispenser at the bottom of the bottle in the photo and incorporate it into your system then we're in business. OH P.S. don't worry about the money, I'll handle every thing Partner ! ! ! 30 for you/70 for me, right? after all I'm taking all the risk. Have a beer mull it over.

i was thinking more along the lines of just pouring the liquor through a normal tap, not one that dispenses one shot at a time. you would have to get a front closing one like a perlic though, as im sure the liquor would gum it up pretty quickly.

That is a great idea. But all i got is a deep freezer so it dont fix my problem. I could make the freezer taller. Then add a little door and insulate it. Thats just a lot more money but great idea.

Your question made me remember an older post that fascinated me. It's for an upright conversion, but maybe it will help you in your quest.

The Inebriator (freezer/fridge combo)

You are kind of limited to what was done in The Inebriator if you want to keep it simple and cheap. Otherwise the corny keg works well for parties and stuff. If you want more drinks put in more taps and more kegs with drinks.
