    Red face 1st Post..Have a plan and a question or 2

First of all, thanks thus far for the all the info I have perused. The only thing I know how to do for sure is drink the beer. I have retrieved enough information here to be dangerous now.

Having a bar built, plan to put a kegerator under counter. Looking at Summit 500B-2 dual faucet. Have allowed for flow through ventilation of about 4-5 inches on each side and essentially the back will be open, exposed to a utility room. That being the case, I want to mount the tower through the counter top ( 3/4") , net clearance from top of kegerator to bottom of counter top will be 3/4".

I want to relocate the tower to front corner of unit app. 4-5 "s off the front of the unit (excluding the depth of the door). From my reading, I understand that relocation of tower is fairly straightforward and doable. My concern/question is...how does the tower attach to the unit from the *******, and when relocating, how or do I reattach tower ( to counter? or unit ?) for stability. Plan is to cut out a big enough opening in unit to allow for tower cooling also. For example, does tower bolt to counter top and I run my pvc or whatever up from inside unit to mount against bottom of tower on counter? Cabinet maker is holding off starting until I confirm I have nothing insurmountable. I have a habit of not being concise and I apologize on the front end for that. Given that, I will stop here and would very much appreciate any guidance any of you may have. I look forward to being part of the group and learning as I go.

    Thanks, again

Certainly doable. You'll want to mount the tower to the countertop. The existing tower should be able to be mounted to the counter using apropriate screws, unless it's granite/ceramic/tile/etc, then you would want to use bolts and nuts.

You'll probably want to drill a new hole in the top of the unit using a 2 1/2" hole saw. Cooling lines won't run through the top, but I would take off the top of the unit to verify you're not hitting any vital components. Seal up the old hole with some insulation. Then you want a piece of PVC to bridge any gap between the unit and the counter, and I would seal that connection as well.

be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,

be selfish and worry about my liver."

Rather than drill a new hole in the top of the unit I just used PVC pipe and insulated it with foam tape. You need to use someting to bridge the gap between the top of the unit and the underside of the bar top anyway. You can see some pics here:

depends on how much clearance he has between the top of the unit, as to whether or not he can do that.
