"T" type 3 tapper - vs- regular single colum 3 tapper??

Could someone please tell me what are the differences? is the "T" style harder to keep cool? ( i have the fan that blows cold air up the tower, but wondering if all the extra space in the box will make a difference -vs- having the regular tower?).
