Default keg tap

i just got a kegerator and im haveing alot of trouble geting the beer to dispence. I belive it is the keg coupler , the ball that is inside came out freely. Is there any chance that the retainer was missing and blocking the beer from coming out?

You didn't say if the beer is flowing now. If the retainer was missing, the check ball would float with the beer and possibly close the beer line at the tailpiece connection. The object of the check ball is to stop beer from flowing back into the keg if you lost pressure. However, you can dispense beer without the check ball. Please reply with how the beer is dispensing now.
