i just tried a 6 pack of that from wegmans. it was ok. definitely better than the hopback which was really bitter to me....but after 3 of them in an hr or so, the rest started tasting really good. :-)
there are a few other varieties of troegs 6 packs at wegmans, so i'm trying all of them, plus all the other brands that look decent
fyi-i'm actually related to the trogner brothers by marriage. too bad i don't know them that well to get some free beer.

1/4 bbl Yuengling Lager
1/2 bbl Bud Light
Like champagne and soda water, I know, but after 2 glasses of Yuengling I start to care less about what I'm drinking. So, I figure I'll save the 25 calories per glass and try and watch my girlish figure!

1/2 of Syracuse Pale Ale for my first keg. Not a great brew, but has a clean finish for summertime. Hoping to get something a bit darker once that's kicked.

I finished two 1/3s of Augustijn Gran Crus... too much ABV for a keg... of course it was a great run.
Have a 50L of Franziskaner on tap. I am waiting for my son to be born before I tap the 50L of Schneider... this will be a great moment.

Finally have everything working well. Finished a delicious 13.2 gallon keg of Firestone Pale Ale and now am about 1/4 of the way through a 15.5 gallon keg of Samual Adams Boston Lager.

I drink craft brew like it's going out of style. Imperial Stouts, IPA's, etc. I recently spent $60 on four bottles of Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout, and have an arsenal of bottled craft brew in my basement, waiting to drink. As a self proclaimed beer nerd, PBR is one of my beers of choice for summer outings. Many people dismiss something like PBR, because it's cheap. If they have one, their preconceived notion is that it's cheap, and it's bad, when that "bad" taste they are experiencing is actually flavor. Enjoy the PBR! Because I do!
In conclusion, it kind of irks me when someone ridicules someone else for the beer they choose. I prefer that everyone enjoy themselves and drink what makes them happy.

I hear ya cubby. I prefer a bit more flavor in my beer as well. I'm currently sucking down a half barrel of Arrogant Bastard & a sixth of Fat Tire.
When I choose to go "slumming" I go with Tecate. Quite refreshing for a "cheap" beer.

Amen my Brothers! I wanted the first keg going in to be as old school USA as it gets so I went with Pabst as I didn't have a Yeungling coupler (though I've got one now!). The next keg will probably be Harp or Stella, but I sure am enjoying the PBR.

Tap 2: Fuellers London Pride
Tap 3: picking up 1/6 of Dales Pale Ale next week.
Tap 4: remaining empty for now. thinking about getting Bud Lt or Michelob Lt to have for start of football season = less people drinking the good stuff which means more for me

Finding it very hard to get a 1/2 barrel here in Rockford, Il. seems the distributors don't have much in stock but major brands. Gave a list of 6 beers had to settle for coors light. very dissapointed

I'm looking at the website of one of your local beer bars, The Olympic Tavern. They have Founders, Sierra Nevada, Bell's, New Belgium, Guinness, and Rogue on tap, and have Dog Fish Head 90 minute coming up. Also, have you been to Old Chicago, in your area? Anything they have on tap is available through your local distributors. It might not be available for individual purchase, but it'll give you an idea.
Also, there's a Binny's Beverage Depot in Algonquin, now. It's not terribly far from you. They may be able to order kegs for you, and they probably have access to Chicago distributors.

Liquor stores will tell you they can't get stuff, because they've never heard of it, when in fact, they can get it. I had one store tell me they couldn't get something, so I found out who distributed it, then called the store back and asked them to call that distributor. They called me back 2 minutes later with a price quote.

Miller light 1/2 barrel. My work had a "party" last week. I repaired the 10 year old kegerator they had. Now comes my payment. Leftovers!! Getting a log of Shocktop to empty out! Over half full. They use to use picnic taps. Leftovers were wasted! I repaired the kegerator and now I get leftovers!!! I love my job!!! My favorite beer, FREE!!

You might want to mention to your boss that the coupling will only fit a keg of "insert your favorite beer here". Let him/her know how much they can save by purchasing that keg of "your favorite beer"!
Also.... can you please send me an employment application?

Love my job!!
It's a dual keg setup. The Employee's Club usually get a 1/2 of Coors Light, Miller Light, then a couple of logs of "nicer" brews. The 2 keg setup is perfect for this. They started with a Sam Adams log first, so when it popped they put on the Schock Top. Most of them switch to the Coors light. Just breaks my heart!! LOL!! Got it "resting" in the kegerator now after the ride home. It's about 3/4 full!! Did I mention that I love my job? And for the record, cold and free is my favorite!!!!
Oh by the way, Yuenglinger, here where you need to go for that job!
We can always use the help!!

I saw from the main page that the last post in this topic was made by a user named I-Hop, and I was thinking, this guy better either have an IPA on tap, or work at a pancake restaurant.
