Magic Hat Circus Boy
Victory Prima Pils
Cubby you make a good point, but I have found the majority of people wont even try a new brew. I used to be strictly Friday Night Miller Lite, but after I got the kegerator and starting experimenting I can barely drink the stuff! I will drink Michelob Light, but now I love trying new brews out...it has become a hobby.

This is exactly what I have planned for mine. Keg of Bud in it right now while I'm getting it all tweaked out. Off topic, but the BUNGIE in your name, are you a part of the company, Bungie?

As of last Friday, I have a sixtel each of Magic Hat #9 and Allagash Dubbel.
Honestly, I'm not that impressed with either.
I asked my "beer guy" about Troegs, Schlafly, Rogue, Victory, Stoudt's, and Bell's, since others have said good things about all of them here. Rereading our chain of emails, he didn't specifically say he couldn't special order those, so I'll have to ask again, this time more directly.
In Georgia, there are strict laws prohibiting breweries from selling directly to the public, which is really unfortunate.

I have a sixtel of Shock Top Belgium White sitting next to my brand new Kenmore Chest Freezer. As soon as the temp controller and the rest of the stuff I ordered from *************** and MicroMatic shows up this week I'll be enjoying it. I plan on picking up another sixtel after I get it set up. Its a dual keg setup

1st had a 1/4 of yuengling lager, then a 1/4 of miller lite and now a sixtel of Shock Top Belgium White that i got about a week ago that i almost have kicked all by myself.
what should i get next?
i have a cheepo vissani kegerator, but it works fine for me...the beer gets me drunk, thats all that matters :-)
FYI - my cousin is married to one of the Trogner's of the Troeg's brewery. He doesnt work there, but it is his families business.
I tried a few different brews at my uncles house a few years ago and didnt like them, but my tastes have changed, so maybe I'll give them another chance.

1/2 barrel of Bass Pale Ale, 1/6 Bells Two Hearted Ale and 1/4 Bud Light for the lady. Still waiting for my list back from the beer guy to what all I have available. Thinking maybe the Sierra Neveda ESB or Summerfest for the last tap.

1/2 of Bell's Oberon tapped last night.
I couldn't wait for it to settle after transporting, so the first glass looked a lot like orange juice, lol.

I did not know that bells came in 1/6 barrels. Do they distribute those to the Chicago area?

That is unfortunate. You probably won't be able to get the Troegs since they limit shipping to about 3 hours drive. However, they will sell to the public so if you're in Harrisburg, PA you can pick up some. I suggest planning a trip for the fall and getting the Mad Elf. We're planning to make a day trip specifically for that this fall. Or make a weekend of it, if we plan it right we can go by way of Victory and Stoudts.
I just got a G tap on eBay and BF is heading to the distributor after work tonight to get the 1/2 of Anchor Summer. That's one I do like (had it last year). Hopefully we can get a couple over the next few months.

Flying Fish Imperial Espresso Stout (1/6)
Samuel Adams Chocolate Bock (1/6)
Cricket Hill Colonel Blides Cask-Style Ale (1/6)
Trying to get a sixtel of Saranac Caramel Porter, but distributors are making life difficult. Wanted Mendocino White, too, but they only filled half barrels.

You're also not likely to get Schlafly. They have about the same policy as Troegs. Nowhere outside of a few hours drive.

Troegs Dreamweaver Wheat (Unreal how good it is)
Victory Mad King Weiss
I guess I am lucky living in PA. I can get Troegs 1/6's just about anywhere. I am already planning my Mad Elf tapping party in December!

1/6 Killians was $36.99
1/6 Blue Moon was $54.99
If I remember correctly. I was looking at 1/6 of Dogfish Head, but they wanted $85.99, which seemed a bit high?

wow, those are pretty decent prices
i though killians would be more, the blue moon price is about right, but it's probably more like $60 in my area.
shock top was about $48 and sam adams was about $60.
yeah $86 is a bit much for a 1/6

Dogfish head what? $85.99 would be high for 60 minute, India Brown, or Shelter Pale Ale, IMO, but for 90 minute, Palo Santo Maron, Midas Touch, or pretty much any of their seasonals, that price would be well worth it.
