On Tap
Budweiser American Ale. I thought it tasted much better from the bottle. This was my first keg for my new kegerator, and well, I'm disappointed in my decision. Now I have to drink a whole 6th of this crap before I get a better keg. I think I'll go with Sierra Nevada pale ale next. Live and Learn...
-
I'll see if I can find a Lagunitas sixtel, along with a Bud Light once the kegerator is purchased and installed...can you say cart before the horse?
-
I got a 1/6 of Sam Adams Octoberfest in my Vissani. I made a few corrections to the unit and now I have perfect pours every time and the Sam Adams tastes great!
-
Just got an old Bev-Air kegerator on loaner from my roommate's relative and it came with a free Shocktop. While not my favorite it still is awesome to finally have a kegerator!
The only slight issue is every time the compressor kicks on the lights in the kitchen and hallway flicker for a second. Oh well!

Returned an empty Killian's Irish Red today and replaced with Foster's lager.
-
I just picked up a 5 gallon keg of Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale. I have to hurry and finish it because their Celebration Ale is out.
-
- Currently pouring: Js Toss it in IPA (78% US 2 Row 11% Crystal 40 11% Rye Hopped with Magnum bittering using Amarillo and Riwaka hops for Aroma and flavoring)
- Root Beer - Gnome Extract (Makes a great float)
- Conditioning: Js Pumpkin Ale (Experimental early year batch)
- Bulk aging: Old Irascible (My US version of a Russian Imperial Stout)
-
First keg in my newly purchased used haier kegerator is 1/2 barrel of Dos Equis Amber. Its kind of sad because a lot has been wasted testing out the right temp and pressure but it doesnt bother me to much, cause I have draught beer!!!!!

Yesterday just installed my 2nd 13.2 Gallon keg of Firesstone Double Barrel Ale... Letting it chill for 48 hours before tapping. In the mean time I'm enjoying Wild Blue... this is some pretty good beer for being an anheuser-busch owned product..... maybe it's the 8% a.b.v.

I've noticed some taste different between bottle and tap. IMO usually the tap is better than the bottle (most recently had this with Dogfishhead Punkin ale, didn't care for the bottle, enjoyed the tap).
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is bottle fermented and is not as good on tap. If you have a local bar that has lots of different things on tap and rotates them, you might want to go taste testing first. Our local bar is one of these and this helps us decide when we're looking for something new.
Finally ran out of Anchor Summer Beer (thanks Bound for supplying us from April!). Now we have a quarter of Lord Chesterfield. Trying to decide if we want to get a sixtal to put with it (we have a dual tower) or just wait until the Elf comes in.

It's fantastic in the bottle... great on tap... just not as "aggressive" tasting... still one of my all time fav beers.

I notice the same thing with Leinies Octoberfest. The tap version tastes much better than the bottled version.

This past weekend, I put in a sixtel of Sweetwater Motor Boat (one of the best ESBs I've had) and a slim quarter of Bell's Porter. I'm wondering a bit if the Bell's is an aberrant keg or something, as it seems to be very carbonated, much more than a porter should be. I've been having foaming issues with it too, which could be because of this weird carbonation or maybe because the fatter keg doesn't allow the air to circulate around it as much.

I finished the Anniversary Ale and just tapped the Celebration Ale this Wednesday. It's well worth rushing for.. but the Anniversary is so worthy of savoring. These are the kinds of problems I don't mind having (unlike the Stella that's in my 2nd tap position; I'm sure it's good, but I don't have an "S" sankey ).

havent had anything in the kegerator for 2 months. I was in Philly for work and only home on the weekends so it would have went bad.
so my dilemma is...at my local beer distributor that's 2 min away from my house a 1/2 of sam adams octoberfest will be like $160 and the 1/6 is like $80 (with a $30 deposit on either since i traded in my last empty for a case of octoberfest)
the 1/2 is 3x as much beer for only twice the price, but i don't know if i want to pay that much or need that much octoberfest and the 1/6 for $80 is about the same price for the equivalent amount of beer in cases.
maybe i should just go with my usual 1/2 of yuengling lager for $85 + $30 deposit and just buy a case of octoberfest.
or should i try something else?
what do you think?

1/6th Victory Hopdevil
Working my way through the 1st keg in my new Kegerator! Bought on clearance from the local HD for less then $300. Going through the 1st timer learning curve (can you say foam), but am still enjoying the beer. Gonna build a tower cooler this weekend which I think should fix the issues.
Next up some Shipyard Pumpkin if I can still find it around me...

I am thoroughly enjoying my keg of Anniversary Ale. It is the perfect beer for IPA loving, kegerator owners.

I have on tap a corney of my homebrew IPA, that's based off a Bell's Two Hearted clone. It's pretty good.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

Widmer Okto
To make my wife happy, my first keg is a 1/2 bbl of Widmer Okto. I'm now wishing I started a little smaller, but I'm cheap so I had to get the best deal.
