Default Freon Leaks

A total kegerator newbie here! I just bought a used comercial unit for my home bar, and the guy I bought it from says it has a freon leak. How can I check to find out where the leak might be?
Thanks

welcome to the boards rhart60. Scott is the moderator from micromatic and a pro at these ??? just to add my .02 I think freon leaks are checked with a special propane torch. DONT take my word for it though. he should get back to you in a little while

Or, just have a refrigerator repairman make a house call, most likely you wont be able to do the repairs yourself anyway...

Most definitely! Call the refrigeration tech. They have the proper halogen leak detectors just for freon. Hopefully the cost of repair and freon does not send you into shock!

Sure is, when it comes down to it thats all a kegerator is... all the beer components are items you can check yourself.
