Question Nitrogen Regulators

Ok guys,
I heard that a Nitrogen regulator is designed similar to a CO2 regulator, but it is equipped to be compatible with either a Nitrogen or mixed gas cylinder. Now those that goes for a CO2 regulator as well?
I just got a Brand new Kegerator(KC2000 - EdgeStar) and i'm making a convertion to pour Guinnes. I've already bought the stout faucet and the coupler. But i was wondering if i could use the CO2 cylinder and regulator i got with the kegerator for Nitrogen or beer mix?
Any help i could get please...

You need to talk to your gas supplier and ask them how they provide their mixed gas. Some places provide mixed gas in a C02 cylinder and some provide mixed gas in a nitrogen tank. If they provide it in a C02 tank, you can just use your C02 regulator. If they provide it in a nitrogen tank, then your C02 regulator will not fit on the tank because it has a different fitting, but you can buy this adapter to allow your C02 regulator to fit on the nitrogen tank.

A regulator doesn't really know or care what gas goes through it. All it is going to do is take a high pressure of any gas on one side and regulate it to a smaller pressure on the other side.

The adapter should be under $20, whereas a quality regulator will cost you at least double that...

Once again, check with your gas supplier to see what valve is on the cylinders of beer gas they supply. If it is the CGA-320 valve then you can just use your existing regulator... If they supply tanks with the CGA-580, then you will need the adapter or another regulator.

BTW - you cannot have an Aluminum cylinder filled with beer gas, the pressures of nitrogen / mixed gas are too high for Al cylinders, so beer gas bottles will always be steel cylinders. Your gas supplier can give you more info.
