Talking guinness

i am not sure what you have but to dispense guinness you need the "U" coupler, stought faucet, and a mix gas of 75% nitrogen 25% co2. that is it as far as equipment all the shanks and lines should work the same. the temp should be a little higher 42* F or so if I remember right and the pressure is like 38-42 psi I THINK. It has been about 6 months since I had a keg and I will check the notebook later for how I had it set up. If you are going to have 2 kegs going at once I am not sure of the perfect temperature you need to keep the ice box as I am in the process of having two(or three) kegs in the same refrigeration unit right now. They say non guinness beer is to be like 34* to 38* and the guinness a little higher. Happy times are coming with the guinness barrel on the way!

Thanx,
looks like it comes with everything you need except for the gas tank, and the coupler. You will need the U coupler for Guiness, and yes, that is the kit you need.

be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

If you have a kegerator, you do not need a "door conversion kit". The door conversion kit is used to transform a refrigerator into a kegerator.

Here is what you need:

These items available from Micro Matic.
JESF-4 Stout Faucet
G408 U System Keg Coupler
75% Nitrogen/25% CO2 gas blend (commonly called "G gas" or "beer gas")

The Stout Faucet should fit the existing tower on your kegerator. The required pressure for the Guinness is 30 - 35 psig. This higher pressure is required because of the restrictor valve inside the black nozzle on the stout faucet.

Temperature is a personal thing for Guinness. I like mine a little warmer, around 40 - 42 degrees, but remember to turn down the temperature of your kegerator when and if you switch back to ales and lagers. Must keep in mind that American keg beers are NOT pasturized and will go bad if not kept under 40 degrees.

You will require the gas mix. Do not use this on the ales and lagers. It is not designed for these type beers. As to the temperature, dispense and consume at the temperature you desire. Begin your pressure around 30 and increase until the desired pour is acquired.

So Nitrogen on its on its no good. Ok...
Why should i not use the gas mix for ales and lagers?
I'm new at all this and i'm trying to learn to get my kegerator working perfect..

Default Mixed gas

If you use mixed gas on standard beers it would make the beers go flat. Nitrogen doesn't desolve into beer like CO2 this is why they use it on guinness. you need to use a mixed gas on Guinness so that you have some carbination. good luck!!!!
