Default Temperature Controller where to mount

I just made a kegerator from a Kenmore freezer. I was wondering where I should mount the E26 - Temperature Controller. I was thinking of putting the end in the kegerator and having the copper coil wire run outside the freezer and mount the box part outside. Will the outside temp mess with the temp the device is reporting inside. Maybe mount it box near the top so little copper wire is little exposed. If it doesnt matter i'll mount it near the bottom of the unit on the outside.

Doesn't matter where the box is, just be careful with the bulb type probes like that. I bent a line with too sharp of a radius and ruined one.

I have mine mounted to the back left just to the side of one of the hinges of my chest freezer so it isn't seen when looking at the unit head on. I used velcro to fasten it so I wouldn't have to drill holes and I can easily remove the unit, bring it up on top of the box to verify temerature whenever I want. I ran the line between the seal next to the hinge again so I didn't need to worry about holes in my box.
