Default Magic Chef Freezers...

for a kegerator ? Home Depot has a 10% off till 6/4/08 and I have two gift cards there. They have the 7.2 cf in stock for under 200 and I checked it out today. I'm looking to buy a micro double tap system for the thinner kegs.

Anyone use these freezers for a kegerator ? I would like to roll with the energy ones, but duckets get in the way

thanks,
Leroy

I have been going back and forth between chest freezers and min refrigerators, but I think I am going with the 7.2 CU FT Chest Freezer as well. It is a good fit for my beer room. In regards to your question: everything I have read about chest freezers is that they are more economical to run than refrigerators because of the increased insulation.

I have a question too: Does anyone know if I will be able to get a 1/2 keg of Guinness, 22lb Nitro Tank, One Cornie/1/6 keg and one 10lb CO2 Tank in a 7.2 CU FT Chest Freezer.

Thanks.

Every 7.2 is different. I learned when I was shopping for a freezer that some of the freezers even change dimensions slightly from year to year (as new models come out). I made a template out of cardboard of everything I wanted to fit in the freezer and took it in the store.

I took the plunge today and picked up a 7.2 magic chef from home depot. Today was the last day 10% off sale. and I hade a gift certificate handy

I love Newcastle and Widmer Hefeweizen so I'm looking at hitting a two tap system. Anyone run those two? Will I have a problem with the C02 pressure or temp?

and...what is the benifit of adding a 2X4, wood extension between the lid and freezer...if I use a tower or taps off of the extension?

I'm going to take pics of my conversion. Looking for suggestions on what to buy first/next
