Default Experience with a ventmatic faucet

I'm sure I'm doing something incorrect with the setting but I couldn't get this faucet to work for me at all. I've got a MM stainless faucet regularly and have never had any issues with it. I was putting a new keg of Shiner Bock in the fridge and figured I'd try it out.

I couldn't get anything but foam out of this faucet, after a couple hours of frustration and tinkering I de-coupled the keg and swapped the stainless faucet back in and I was instantly getting perfect pours again.

It looks cool and the build quality is top notch but I just can't get it pouring right. I bought it on a recommendation of a friend who had a rear-sealing unit seize up on him, but I've never had an issue with my standard SS model. The best I can figure is that the choke points at the back of the faucet are agitating the beer before it comes out the spout.

Anyone else have any experience/success with one of these or a Perlick?

You might have just sold me on the MM stainless faucet.
I have the Danby stock and a perlick/ ventmatic. I probably can't pour a beer right, but I think the Danby stock has a slightly better pour. If you thnk about it ,the perlick/ ventmatic keeps more beer in the faucet subject to warming. I notice when my perlick/ ventmatic is attatched I have condensation on it after a pour. Thanks for your recommendation/ info!

The only things I noticed after switching to a ventmatic was fewer drips, no sticks and my faucet lock doesn't lock as well as it did with my standard style faucet. So two positives and one negative. Overall I'm sold on it. Did you clean it well before use?

I've been switching back and forth between a standard and the ventmatic. I think i like the ventmatic better mainly because it seems to stay cleaner on the inside. If it's been a long time since a poor, I may have to dump the first little bit to get rid of the warm beer in the faucet.

Yeah I cleaned it out with cleanflo prior to install. I knew that I would probably have some warming/foaming inside the faucet just due to the design and I could live with that but its just a steady pour of foam from start to finish.

Like I said, I'm sure it's something to do with the setup, I know a lot of people use them and love them. I may mess with it again in the future.

How long is your beer line? I had foaming until I put in six or seven feet (I forget which it is).

I've never had a problem with beer getting warm in the faucet either. Kegerator has the ******* tower insulation and cooling. Faucet will get condensation on it when a beer hasn't been poured that day.
