Default Different Temps at Bottom and Top of Kegerator

So I finally got my Kenmore kegerator down to the proper temp.

However, a thermometer on top of the keg reads 45 degrees, while one at the bottom of the keg reads 35 degrees.

So my beer is cold at the bottom, and warmer at the top of the keg. Is this an issue? I originally had a big fan inside the fridge to circulate air but it caused the unit to stay too warm; should I try a smaller fan?

Thanks

Hot air rises... cool falls. Try a smaller fan. Any air movement is better than none.

Thanks for that science lesson

Is it bad for the beer though if I leave it as is? I beer is reading 39 degrees, as I said before at the bottom air temp is 35, at top of keg air temp is 45.

Thanks

It's probably not good, as beer absorbs carbonation at different levels based on what temperature it is. I would get a small DC fan in the unit for air circulation. Even a tiny fan pointed up from the bottom should create enough circulation to even things out considerably.

If you don't have the tower cooled, I would probably just do that, as it will kill two birds with one stone. You run the blower/fan from the bottom to push the coolest air into the highest point in the kegerator and the return air from the tower should be all the circulation you need.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might
be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself,
"It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than
be selfish and worry about my liver."

Would a small computer fan do the trick? Then I could just make a little plastic device to hold it off the bottom by a few inches .. and blow air up.

Yep. And the beer is drawn from the bottom of the keg so it should be cooler, but 10deg is quite a split. Is the door seal ok and is the door fully closed?

I would like to put a small dc or ac fan in my deep freeze. Where should I get one?
