Default Can I use the stock shank with a stout faucet?

Does anyone know if you can attach a stout faucet to the standard shank that can be found in a stock Danby? All of the stout conversion kits include a new shank, but I wonder if it is really necessary. I figured I could skip a couple steps with my stout conversion if I don't have to take the tower apart to hook up the new shank.

You can indeed. I did, and have had no problems.

Does anyone know if this will work with the Nostalgia Keg-O-Rator?
