Default Question about Beer Presure and Kegerators..

I have Haier Kegerator that I bought a while back. It is has been a great home unit for me but I am having issues with one kind of beer. I can never seem to get Coors Light to pour from it correctly. It always comes out with about 80% foam and 20% beer.

My first reaction was to reduce the presure from about 12 psi to around 5 psi between the CO2 tank and the keg. That did not work. I still got all foam until the keg got close to empty then my last few glasses were just flat beer.

On my next keg I was told that Coors over carbonates their products and to correct the issue instead of turning the pressure down I need to turn it up. I took the pressure up to about 20 psi and the beer poured a little better, but still not what I would call good.

The thrid thing I tried was to lenghten the hose between the keg and faucet from 5ft to 20ft. This got me about a 50% foam to 50% beer mix which is an improvement, but still not what I would call a good pour.

The kegerator keeps the keg at 35 F and currently there is 5ft of hose between the keg and the faucet. Also the faucet is 4' 7" from the center of the keg.

Again any other beer I have tried pours like a champ. It is only Coors Light that gives me a problem. Any suggestions any one might have would be great.

Thanks,

Coors should be poured at 38 degrees and 16 psi at sea level. I would search this forum for "calibrating a thermometer" and do so to insure an accurate reading. Also, be sure that you are getting the liquid temperature and not the air inside the cooler. Definately sounds like a temperature/pressure issue.
