    Default Successful MM Refrigerator Conversion

Hello All, I have been lurking here for a few weeks. This is a great forum with lots of help. I have wanted a kegerator for a while. After reading most of the topics/post here, I decided to convert my fridge in the basement into a kegerator. I ordered the Stainless Steel kit from MM. During lunch today, I got my Co2 filled for 12.65, 1/4 keg of Miller light from Total Wine (wanted something cheap at first, i will drink it) and did the conversion. Well it was an hour and a half lunch and I work from home so who's checking? I had a great experience with this. Was a little nervous at first drilling thru the side of the fridge but it was fine. The first beer had a lot of foam but was fine after that. Conversion is the way to go. Here are a few pictures of my lunch break.

Thanks, I am going to enjoy this. Especially when we get into grilling weather. I enjoy being at home with something on the grill. The keg will really add to it. Cheers.

Life is Good! Keep a handle on your temperature and pressure. Great job on the conversion and the ribs look awesome.

Grilling and draught beer is a great combination. Good job on the conversion.
Malt is the soul of beer... and yeast gives it life..
but the kiss of the hop is the vitality of that life!

My three favorite beers: The one I just had, the one I'm drinking now and the next one I'll have.

Grilling and Chilling! Yes life is good.

I am going to order a cleaning kit this week. I think I better get a lock too. I'm not worried about unauthorized use but I am worried about one of the kids playing with the handle and making a mess. Would be nice if you could get a shut off valve or something on the beer line. Anyone seen anything like that?

    Thanks guys.

You already have one. Release the plunger on the coupler and tada! You might want to consider getting a drip tray too. I wonder if they make magnetic ones?

Nice setup. You are going to enjoy it a lot it seems. I too would highly recommend a drip tray of somekind or maybe just a bucket on the ground underneath the faucet. If not you will a sticky floor after a while from overfill, drips etc.

Yeah, I do need a drip tray. Right now i just have a bucket underneath. I'm going to wait till I get a cabinet or build something before I install a drip tray.
