Default Tailpiece/hose nipple question

I just purchased some additional 3/16 beer line and I'm trying to remove the existing tailpiece/hose nipple from the vinyl line to add a splicer and extend the lenght to approx. 6ft, however I'm having trouble removing the hose nipple. I realize I could just cut the line at the hose nipple but I'm also having trouble pushing the splicer into the line as well.

Is there some trick to removing the hose nipple and/or pushing the splicer piece into the vinyl line?

Your best bet is to cut it as you want a clean piece of hose to to ensure a good fit. To get the tail piece in you can soak the hose in warm water to loosen it up a bit, it should slide on pretty easy then. Also you could use a small screw driver to slip the fitting onto, then use that to assist in getting onto the hose, this technique helps save the thumbs when working with that stuff.
