Default Which Fridge? Opinions needed.

So I also bought the Danby from Sam's Club. Nice price, but if it can't keep my beer cold then what good is it.

Anyway, I was checking out the Kenmore at Sears and also saw the Frigidaire Beverage Center. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Frigidaire. Any problems with temp. Which would you recommend?

Thanks

I'm curious to hear a review from anyone on the Frigidaire unit. With the faucet being in the door and the relative size of said door it seems like it might do a better job with foam and what not but who knows. For the price I usually see it offered you could just about get a new Bev-Air.

Question about your kenmore. As far as the 38 f temperature; is that the temp the beer is pouring at or is that the inside temperature. Also, are you able to lower the temp anymore or is that as cold as it gets? Thanks for the input.

Honestly, I think I'm leaning more towards the Frigidaire unit and would really like to hear about any experiences with it. I checked with Sears and was told they have a ninety day return policy. I'm thinking I may just give that one a try unless I hear some bad things about it.

Have you seen the Kustom Keg-r-ator? - kustomkegrator.com? - what do you think of this "theme" type box?

I own a Frigidaire. I'm very pleased with it. The liquid temp in my unit is 37 degrees. I've never owned any other unit so I have nothing to compare it to. It has Micromatic hardware, so it performs as you expect it should. I had problems with foam and such but that was from lack of knowledge in how to set the system up.

I HIGHLY recomment getting a chest freezer. You can pick up a used chest freezer and a dual keg system and a full keg for less than you can get one of these pre-manufactured kegerators. The chest freezers are the best. Setting up a kegerator is easy and fun, especially with a chest freezer. Just take a look at this picture to change your mind!

I've been hearing the problem with the thermostat on the Haeir kegerator, but I don't seem to have that problem. My thermostat is as low as it can go and my beer is at 38f. I tried to find the link of the person who fixed the Haeir thermostat but was unsuccessful. If anyone knows the link could you post it. thanks.

if your t'stat is all the way to the coldest position and you are getting 38f, u do have a problem. the temp in my kenmore is 38f and I still have a good 1/4 turn to the coldest point.

I returned my Danby and got the Haier. I haven't tapped the keg yet but after being plugged in for one night it was down aroun 30f in there. Plenty cold I would assume. My t'stat dial was half way between normal and coldest.
Also, does anyone know anyplace I can get my hands on a Golden Gate CO2 vent and lager valve? I guess it's a fairly old tapping system that most people don't use anymore. There's a great micro brew from OR I would like to get but they use this golden gate system. can't find them anywhere.

did u place a thermometer in a glass of water to determine liquid temp?, or just place it in the fridge. if your Haier is 30f liquid temp, I would say u r one of the few that managed to get a good one. but dont leave it at 30f, run the t'stat to bout 37-38f. good luck

The link for the Hair thermostat fix is:

http://www.tommydehart.com/fun/keg/haier_brewmaster.htm

I followed the instructions and now have no problem maintaining 38 degrees and can take it much lower if I would like. Good luck.

Cheers to you BigStein!!! I took my laptop out to the kegarator and followed your directions and pictures and I've now got the capability to go as low as I can on my Haier. Everything works great.
Thanks again.

Anyone have experience with the Sanyo products sold on this website? I'm interested in pouring 2 sixtels and noticed the Sanyo's spec says it will fit.

Also, is the only difference between the two (BC1206 and BC1206-2) the second tap? Seems like a steep price increase ($110) if that is all the difference.
