As of recently my Danby Kegerator has been making a fairly loud whirring type sound about every hour lasting about 30 secs. Not sure if it is the compressor, low on 134A or the supposed fan inside. It always seems to happen when the temp. reading is around 41 degrees. Any ideas? The temperature controls appear to be working although the minute the unit hits 36 it stops and allows the unit to elevate back to 41F.
Perhaps a bearing in the compressor motor when it kicks on or a bearing in the inside fan motor which also turns on and off when the compressor does. Open the door when it makes the noise to see if the fan is causing it. I think these are the only 2 motors on this unit.
That's what I had thought. It sounds like its coming from inside the unit when I open the door. Is the fan behind the cooling plate. Does that plate come off without damaging the freon lines. I took out the 2 screws but the plate does not appear to want to move. I am afraid to break a line?
