Fridge Conversion

First off I just want to say this forum is great. I have a complete noob question.

I want to convert a new ge fridge w/ freezer on top. But instead of putting the tap through the door I would like to put in through the side of the fridge.

Would this be ok?

Putting the tap on the side should be fine. Most refigerators have all the lines and everything on the back. But to be sure I would check with the manufactorer and start by drilling slowly threw the side to make sure you don't hit any lines or anything.
