Default Need suggestions - buying a new kegerator

After three weeks of owning a Haier, I have decided to return it. It came with a broken tap [xx(], so I contacted Haier customer service. I got three different stories from three different people, and still have a broken tap. Their customer service is awful.

Any suggestions on a good brand and store to buy from? I am looking for a BASIC kegerator, not more than $600: one that is known for NOT having problems from the start!!

    Thanks for your input.

If you're patient you can find used Bev-Air, True, Continental, or Perlick units for that price. It takes a bit of time scouring eBay, craigslist, and the like but they do come up. Completely worth it in my estimation.

There seems to be a big jump from straight comsumer units (appx. $500) to commercial ($1K) with not much inbetween.

The more I read about Haier the less I'd have anything to do with them. I don't know if I've seen one positive review or comment.

    Just my $.02

Thanks for the input - I think I will try the one from Sears this time (they are on sale for $649 right now).

Hey...I just bought the Haier Keg Refrigerator from http://www.kegerators.net for $599. I thought it was a good price.

You can compare all kinds of shiznit there for keg pouring.

    My two cents

You paid too much and I think you're going to have problems with that one.

I agree with Auldog on the price for the Haier, Sams club had the stainless steel Haiers for $460 in spring. Still glad I went with the Kenmore []

I just got the Kenmore from Sears for $649 on sale - it works good so far...I noticed right away that the temp. is cooler than the Haier, right about where it should be...

I bought the 2-year extended warranty along with it, just in case - I hope it was worth the extra $60 (if not, I hear they will come out once a year to do a basic maintenance on it - maybe that will make it worthwhile.)

I hope this one works out...and if it doesn't, I'll go on e-bay / craig's list per your other suggestions...

Thanks for all your suggestions, everyone!
