Talking tower installation questions

I just built a bar in my basement and purchased the summit under-counter beer dispenser. The installation instruction are lacking some important information.

1) the bar top is 1 1/2 inches thick. there is a 1/4 inch tolerance between the kegerator top and the bar top. if I mount the tower on the top of the bar there isn't anything to seal the connenction between the kegerator and the tower.

should I install a pvc pip between the hole on top of the kegerator through the bar top hole and into the tower? is there a coupling device that will make this a tight seal? do I want a tight seal? will this solution keep my beer tower cool? do I need to insulate?

2) I have a natural wood bar top protected with an oil based stain. I need to protect is from moisture as much a possible. does anyone recommend installing a drip tray into the bar top with a drain?

thanks

yes, you need to seal that gap. Maybe you can slide a piece of pvc from the top down and seal it. Ideally you want to supply cold air to the top of the tower with a small blower and tube and have it return to the fridge this will keep the beer in the lines outside the fridge cold. This will give us less foam and more beer and we all agree beer is a good thing.
