Default Just Planning Ahead....

I'm looking to build a Kegerator out of a compact refridgerator. I have two questions, 1)Will a 4.4 cuft fridge(Sears) be big enough? By all measurements I've taken I think it will, with removing the shelves and inner door panel. 2) I plan on placing the kegeraor under my bar I built and the tower on my bar top. The Distance from the top of the fridge and bar top will be 6" or less. Will I need a cooling system on the line for this 6",or is there a longer tower that I could purchase and mount on top of the fridge and run up through the top ? Thanks Mike

As to the kegs fitting, ask your local distributor if you can borrow empty kegs and use them to fit to your refrigerator. Use a standard tower on the bar top but bridge the gap between the underbar and refrigerator with a piece of 3" PVC with insulation wraped around the outside. Youmay need to extend the flex tube to reach to the shank behind the faucet. Target 38F keg temperature and based on your elevation carbonation level of beer, set pressure between 12-18 PSIG. Advise us on these variavbles and we can inform you on the correct PSIG.
