Default A new Avanti Adventure...

Okay. So now that I finally got a good pour out of my Avanti, I am considering replacing the single tap tower that came with the unit with a double tap tower. That way I can keep a seasonal and a all-seasons beer from my local microbrew on tap.

I don't want to go into the purchase blind, especially with this kegerator. Has any of the Avanti owners on this forum replaced the tower with a MM one? Can anyone suggest one? I'm afraid that the threads on the tower are Euro and won't match what I buy from MM.

Thanks!

sfurst-
I have a Danby that came with single faucet 3" tower. In the process of upgrading my Danby to get rid of foam issues, I changed the shank to a MM elbow shank, and I bought a Perlick faucet. I too like the sixtel size keg. I also home brew and keg into cornelius kegs (which are about the same size as a sixtel. Since I already had one good shank and faucet, I did not want to spend a lot of money on a double faucet tower. I ended up purchasing the following double faucet tower off ebay:

eBay: 3" DIA. NEW CHROME DUAL FAUCET BEER DISPENSING TOWER (item 200094130313 end time Apr-03-07 09:50:50 PDT)

THIS TOWER COMES WITH THE STRAIGHT SHANKS, NOT THE ELBOW SHANKS LIKE THE MM ONES DO (I BELIEVE ELBOW SHANKS ARE MUCH BETTER). Anyway, I eventually purchased another elbow shank and perlick faucet and I have a great set up. I usually go with one sixtel keg (currently Sam Adams) and one homebrew (currently Harp Lager).

I don't see why the above tower wouldn't fit your Avanti. Just depends how much you want to invest. Hope this helped some.

Thanks, mhabby...looks like a nice setup.

I was just concerned that the Avanti tower would be some odd diameter that MM towers would not fit...given my past experience with the tap handles, I don't assume anything to be straight-forward on an Avanti.
