Default Coil size

Does anyone know about how large a 120foot coil is. Would it fit in a 5 gallon bucket. also does running warm beer through a 120foot coil produce alot of head?

There is only one way to find out....

If the beer gets cold enough then it shoul pour fine, keep in mind when pushing beer the a coil you need to use high pressure. If using CO2 then you will need to consume the beer in a day or it will become way over carbonated.

The 120ft coil I have will fit in a 5 Gal bucket. I have mine in a cooler conversation that I made. I've used it several times with warm beer and once I found the right pressure - usually about 30psi - it worked great. It's definitely something you have to be willing to mess with to get it right.

I don't condone it, but that is a way to do it. I don't remember the pressure we used, but when I worked in a Football Stadium that is what we did. Plop a warm keg of cheap corn beer on the floor and run the beer through a coil in an ice bucket. It's hard to mess up Bud Light! Just make sure you use your product asap. In the Stadium biz, waste of beer in a keg is not that big a deal, especially when you are selling 12 oz at $7.00 a cup.

A 120ft coil packed with ice pushed at 30lbs with a few feet of 5/6" vinyl tubing at the end as a choker will pour fine but as jayfredweb says you must drink it quick. If you want to put it in the fridge instead of ice I would turn the temp down in the fridge and submerge the coil in a water bath as has been suggested. I think you would have the best luck with that, but it is all about trial and error.
