Default Water Temperature Issues
I am currently calculating fridge temp with a thermometer on a shelf and water temp with a submersible probe. Once the water in the glass reaches about 39-39 degrees my glass is frozen and the temp holds constant. I have tried ice water in a glass, and plastic cup, and also just water in a glass and plastic cup. Any suggestions on how to avoid freezing water??

If your probe is reading 39 degrees and the water is freezing, it must not be calibrated. Use an ice bath to calibrate your thermometer.
