Default Running Kegerator in basement up to Kitchen???

I was thinking about keeping my kegerator in the basement and running a line up to the kitchen. it looks like it will be a 12 foot run. My question is: is it possible to keep the beer cold in the line or do I need to toss a beer out everytime?

If you don't use some type of blower system to keep that line cold you will be throwing away more than just "a beer".

I wonder if there would be a "lift" problem going up that far? You would have to put the beer line in a well insulated tube and keep cold air blowing thru the tube too.
