I have a home bar that I would like to convert for draft brewing, eventually to tap commercial as well as home brew. Behind the current bar is an unfinished area in my basement. I was thinking about putting a fridge in the unfinished area directly behind the wall to the bar and running 2 beer lines through the wall. I hadn't give any thought to cooling the beer between the fridge and the tap until I found your site.

If I use a tower, do you think running insulated PVC from the fridge to the tower containing the 2 beer lines will be sufficient or would I need to force or circulate the air for it to cool the tower those few feet? Or should I try to rig a through-the-wall tap and forget the tower?

you should run two insulated PVC lines from the wall to the tower. One whould be 3-4" in diameter and the other one should be 2" in diameter. You should insulate the the outside line. Get a small blower and blow the air up the 2 inch line and it will return to the refrigerator in the 3-4 inch line. As long as the refrigerator can remain at the desired temp (36-38). Also you need to run 3/16 line to the tower. If it is more than 5 feet away you need to run 1/4 inch line and then reduce it down to 3/16.
