Default Major Keg Anomoly, won't pour, second time

Hi,

I've had a Haier kegerator for not quite 3 years. I have purchased many kegs, I'd say in the neighborhood of 15, and tonight for the second time I'm having a really bizarre problem I saw once before.

First, the keg will only spit foam. It isn't pouring foam, its just spitting it. At the same time, the keg is gurgling like I was blowing bubbles into it. I had this happen about 18 months with a keg of Anchor Steam, and given that most of my prior experience with them was using hand pumps, I decided to see if gravity would take care of things and took the keg out and laid it on its side. It poured fine. Needless to say however, having to pull a 150 lb object out of the fridge and hoist all around isn't exactly convenient. Now I'm having the same problem with a keg of Fat Tire. Although its pouring mostly foam on its side, it is pouring. The kegs use differnt taps, and I have checked my pressure, and I have plenty of CO2. I think its the kegs, but then again I'm hardly an expert.

So what's the deal?

Any input is appreciated,

Mike

Check the keg. Look in the area where the coupler goes and inspect the black seal in there. There is a raised ridge on the seal, look for knicks and tear. This would produce the symptoms you have explained. Good luck.

I agree to check the keg first, if that is ok make sure the check ball in the coupler is free. Sometimes the ball will become stuck when the coupler is not in use. Make sure the coupler you are not using is clean before storing it.

Default Still stuck

Thanks for the tips, unfortunately I'm still having problems. This keg appears to be brand new as well. It didn't have a nick or a scratch anywhere on it and was so clean it appears to have just been rolled out. Actually, I've bought Fat Tire before, and it is a new design as well. I could push the ball in with my finger so that's not it for sure. And the seals look good. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears. I am getting a heck of a work out in the meantime.

Mike

Sounds like it is just a bad keg. It happens once in a while. Take it back. Tapman
