Default wild beer

I really need some help. I just got a kegerartor. The beer comes out way too fast, its all foam, it's at 40 deg, psi is 8, its mich ultra, ive cleaned it all...ive taken the coupler off hopefully to take out the high pressure it started with..it was set at 20 psi at first....help! also once i get this fixed. is the rest of the keg ruined?

First, make sure the keg is cold not just the box.
Then make sure the tubing in the box is the right size. 5' of 3/16 is a good place to start. Then make sure the air tube is up into the tower from the condensor. If thats not it make sure there is no nick in the seal on the tavernhead. The last thing to change is the pressure. You can save the keg by bleeding off the gas.If the beer does get over carbonated. Shut the co2 off then pull the ring on the tavernhead. When gas quits coming out shake the keg and pull the ring again. Then turn the gas back on.

Be careful shaking down the keg! Most certainly the beer will come out clear but you will be drinking flat swill.

How long was this keg subjected to the 20 PSIG and how much beer is left in the keg? The 40 F temperature reading must be the actual beer in the keg. Ultra has a carbonation level of approximately 2.5 vols. It requires 15 PSIG at 40 F.

Be aware that the reason you are targeting 8 PSIG is because you refer to the beer coming out of the faucet fast. This is not beer but foam coming out. It is always perceived as a fast flow and the natural inclination to adjust your pressure to a low setting.

Beer has gas - the sooner you realize this the quicker you will be able to understand what is taking place with your system. Answer the above questions and we can go from there.
