Default Alternative Kegerator Designs

Hi folks,

I'm hoping you guys can help me, I homebrew beer and would like to start using corny kegs rather than bottles. However, I have a very small apartment and can't give up the space that a converted mini-refridgerator takes.

I was thinking about encapsulating the keg in foam and using several Peltier Thermoelectric coolers attached to the keg to drop the tempurature, and then attaching a heatsink and fans to the coolers to move the waste heat out. It seems like it would end up taking a lot less space, but I don't know about the effectiveness of it. I'm under the impression that it would take a while to cool down, but would it be able to get to proper near freezing temps is the part I can't figure out.

I found a premade cooler using thermoelectric coolers, but again it is too big. The Sudsbuddy Beer Keg Cooler Kegerator

I would be happy for any advice you can give, thank you

I don't know about all that but you could buy a 2.5 gallon corny can and build a mini kegerator around that. I think that would be pretty sweet. You could probably find one of those dorm type box fridges and mount a faucet either through the door or in a tower out the top. Just a thought.
