Take 355 North from Germantown. Shortly after you cross into Frederick County, you will see Franklin Liquors on the right side of the road (it's next to an aqarium place). It's about a 10-15 minute drive. They can pretty much order you anything that comes in a keg. Only other place I know of is Beers & Cheers (located off 118 by Safeway). They also can order, but I have found them to be pricey! Hope this helps!

any liquor store in maryland or bar for that matter can order kegs for you. the issues are their distributor for brands and also price, it doesnt cost much to call around to compare prices

Thanks. I do use BeersnCheers. I am told Mont Co only has basic beers. Does Frederick have wider variety?

Beltway Fine Wines and Spirits
This may be out of your driving range but we always get our kegs from a store called Beltway fine wines and spirits. They carry lots of kegs at all times (they are 10 min away from Towson University haha) and they are always real nice. They move kegs quickly most of the time so you usually end up with a fresh keg. It is prob an hour drive from Germantown however so like i said they may be too far for your likeing. They are a very large location and are big wine importers so that leads me to believe that they would be able to get specialty kegs in without much problem. I attached their keg price list here just in case you were interested. Their website is Beltway Fine Wine & Spirits : Welcome to Beltway Fine Wine & Spirits

I love beltway for their microbrew selection, tons to choose from. the only prob I have there is the deposit and registration on the kegs, my new place does not require either if they know you

Prices
the stock beers on the price list are about $10 more than here, in NW Florida. But, your specials orders are $25.00 less! Darnit.

Keg Beer in Maryland
Ok, ya'll. The keg list posted above is definately better than the proces by me in Millersville, but it's an hour from home! I have paid $95 for a keg of Yuengling but that's harsh. I'll suffice to put a cheaper beer in my fridge if I could find a place that is reasonable. Any suggestions?

I've been calling numerous places in the baltimore area for prices and they all seem to be getting price inquiries lately. Guess the cost of gas is puttin us all in a pinch! I'm still looking for a reasonably priced keg. The one in the frig is gettin low! Hagerstown is a drive to save $10, hope I find somehting closer.

Cristos in Ferndale, (on B&A Blvd around the corner from the Ferndale Light Rail Station), is a decent place to get kegs. (410)761-6520
1/2 kegs of domestics run around $85.00 and craft brews, (i.e. Sierra Nevada, Clipper City, etc), run around $120.00 - $130.00. They used to be cheaper, but the hop shortage, and gas prices, have made beer more expensive.
Deposits on kegs used to be $10.00, but I think that they've gone up to around $20.00, or so.
They don't store many kegs, but they can order anything that you want and it usually only takes a day.
If you're so inclined, DuClaw Brewing sells kegs of their own beers. They're only available in 1/2 kegs and, if memory serves, most of 'em are around $115.00 to $130.00. DuClaw has 4 locations, Arundel Mills, Bel Air, Bowie Town Center and Fells Point.
Go to their web-site and they give you directions how to order kegs. You need to order it at least 3 business days before pick-up. I'm going to order a keg from DuClaw, (Hellrazr IPA), next week.....
Hope this helps!

Sorry to be studying archaeology and digging this thread up, but recent replies weren't too long ago...
I believe Franklin Liquors burnt down early this year or late last year... I used to down 355 home from work (Frederick to Germantown) and one day this place was just a smoldering ruin.
I am in Germantown, MD and my kegerator should be set up by next week. Got my fridge in, just waiting for payday to order my conversion kit. I figure I'll start looking for kegs now so I can get the fridge nice and cold and have something to tap into once I install my kit!
I'm thinking Yuengling for my first keg... but I like microbrews a lot. There was one beer called Skipjack that I've had a couple places (a COUPLE, it's rare...), would anyone know where to find it?

Beers and Cheers
I live in Germantown Md and I have bought several kegs from Beers and Cheers (Dogfish 60, Murphy's Stout, Magic Hat 9, and several other good micro and import beers. When a order a couple days ahead of time I am able to get the beers that I want.
