Default Danby Woes (at least Danby is consistant)

Got a Danby as a gift. Hooked it all up and like everybody else on this forum, I am having temperature/foaming issues. First pour is all foam, but after that, I get decent results. Not sure if I want to do major surgery on the Danby as others have. From other posts, I believe my problem is not getting cold air to the tower. I have seen the blower units others have installed along with a new thermostat. My question is this. Can I use the wires that are attached to the small "cheepo" fan already in the Danby, and simply attach them to a blower instead, or are there electrical/voltage issues? By boing this I realize I would still be using Danby T-stat of course. Also, does the white cover over this fan simply pop off? I see white cap on right side of fan which seems to be the attachment point. Did not want to crack anything by prying it off. Thanks in advance

The blowers that are used to cool the tower are 120 vac, the Danby fan is a DC fan, you will have to do some surgery. It isn't all that bad. I have complete instructions if you wish. It isn't that bad of a job if you are OK with electrical work and are handy with basic tools.
