Default Tap Handle Threads

Since getting my kegorator last month I have been on a quest for tap handles. I have my favorites on hand and just received a classic heineken short handle but of course as I have read here, the threads are different on the european handles.

Does anyone know of a converter for my sandard faucet or know where I can get a European faucet so that when I finally get my first keg of heineken I can use this great tap handle.

thanks for the help!

what brand kegerator do you own?

I have an Avanti and had to purchase a special drill bit to rethread my tap handles.

i have the Frigidaire with the freezer on the top. The faucet is easily removed from the unit so hopefully there is an easier solution to using the handle than whipping out the drill since the handle is quite old and prob. pretty delicate. any other thoughts? thanks.

Micro Matic sells some euro towers with euro facets, but doesn't just sell the faucets as far as I can tell (not in a catalog or on-line).
I have found that several accounts here in Ontario are using euro facets and we have been forced to buy from MM's competitor, Perlick (sorry Scott and Melissa). Perlick won't sell direct, so you need to find a distributor.

I used to have a Haier Brewmaster and that unit had a standard tower, shank assembly, and faucet. That unit went bad so I took it back today (extended warranties are good sometimes) and now I have a new Avanti unit. I was able to keep all of the "guts" from my old unit and noticed that I can no longer put my old faucet on the new tower. I also can not use any of my old tap handles. I am assuming this is because Avanti is European and the Haier unit was standard. Can anyone verify this? Also, does anyone know what the measurements are for a standard and european stud. I am willing to make an adapter but I would like to know what the sizes are. I will admit that I am frustrated with the Avanti unit since it isn't standard and it doesn't state that anywhere so you wouldn't even know when you buy it.
