  • Dual Tap Kegerator Questions

I have a Sanyo Kegerator with a single tower & CO2 setup. I added a blower, moved the CO2 tank outside & added a digital thermostat & it's been working great for the last several years. I'd like to replace the tower with a dual tap tower, but I'm a little confused on what regulators, or parts I need to be able to easily do this. Does anyone have a diagram or maybe a description or parts list?

I know I'll need a separate beer gas tank & regulator, coupler & beer line, in addition to the new tower & faucet. But how do I set this up so I can also run two CO2 beers at different pressures when I'm not running Guinness?

    thanks in advance!

OK, It looks to me like I could use this dual-regulator for the CO2 kegs: http://www.micromatic.com/premium/pr...ry-642-battery

And then I would just run 3 separate gas lines into the kegerator. Does that sound right?

Also, in what scenario would you run a secondary regulator? like these: http://www.micromatic.com/beer-regulators/secondary

    thanks!

Was that Sanyo unit also available as a double? If not, it may not fit two sixths. I also think the Guinness might be an oddball size which could further complicate things. The other way you can do it is run two lines into the box, and then split the CO2 inside using the secondary you show.
What I have: Haier two tap, 525 faucets, tower cooler, 10' lines

The guinness sixtels are normal size, unlike the the miller light and yeunglings, but with the guinness tavern heads on the small kegs, you need the short push button handles, the long ones dont fit inside of the rim of the keg

Do you mean the coupler? If so, thanks for the tip, I have a "normal" german slider, sounds like I need to upgrade.

2 sixtels will easily fit - here's a pic of the inside: http://i.imgur.com/CVAoTLW.jpg

Yes and the german slider doesnt fit guinness kegs, you need one of these U couplers http://www.micromatic.com/sites/5/im...png?v=20151103 dont get one of these with the long handle http://www.micromatic.com/images/art...dScouplers.jpg

Thanks so much for the tip! I also have a U coupler, but I'll get a new one.

Changing to a two tap tower was amazingly easy. We had a Haier (we've just replaced it with another) and all I did was take off the single tower and put on a double. Some people have gone to the trouble to enlarge the hole (do this carefully), I didn't bother. Our CO2 tank is inside and we split the CO2 line between the two beers (we got a dual primary just before the first Haier died and haven't used it in the new one yet). We have been able to fit two sixtals or a sixtal and a tall quarter (yeungling has tall quarters) at the same time without problem.

What I would say is use 1 CO2 tank with the dual primary regulator. Two lines in, if you can use two different colors of hose, that will help you keep it straight as to which is which.

The Haier will also fit two slim quarters, and was also sold as a triple tap for a while because it will hold 3 sixths. Great versatility.
