Non-smoking laws affecting accounts

Greetings to all...Ihave aservice route in Illinois. As some of you know,my state goes smoke free 1-1-08. is there anyone out there have problems losing accounts after their city or state enacted their ban? I have alot of small momnpops,good folks but struggling. am i just paranoid or do i have a genuine concern? enjoy the forum, has saved my posterior many times..cya brian.

New York State went non smoking in 2003. In my case, places with older customers suffered the most (can't break old habits ?) Within 6 months I lost about 10 places. Some places added decks outside where people could smoke ( as long as there was not a roof over it). After a year places that could prove that they lost a lot of business were allowed to build a very small glass smoking room.

Places with a younger clientle did not suffer and the chains did not suffer. Now, 4 years later the places that did survive are more stable that they were before and a lot of new places opened. draft cleaning business is better that ever now --- You may just have to wait it out.
