Foamy flat kokanee beer
Hello,
I have just built my first kegerator from a kit using an older fridge.
I let the fridge cool down for about 24 hours before purchasing my first keg of kokanee.
I live at about ~2800 ft and about 3 1/2 ft of beer line, I have the pressure set to 10 PSI. I'm unsure of the temp of the beer as I have not bought a temp gauge (seems to be extremely important so it's the first thing on the list in morning). The beer seems to pour more quickly then I'm use to at the establishments I frequent, so I ***ume I need a more line? can you tell me the exact requirements (from reading online something about insulated 3/16)?
My questions are:
besides temp is there anything else I need to check?
Also I was wanting to put a flow sensor,I currenlty have a hall effect which pulses and it makes the beer extremely foamy more so then no with out 3/4 foam with and about 1/2 foam without.has anyone had experience with these enough to reccomend a different one? Would a longer beer line help? I'am using a br*** coupler could this also be a problem? I soap checked the couplers.
If I find out my fridge is inadequite to cool my frostery beverage can you reccomend a way alter it?
I have been interesting in building a kegerator for a while so I'm extremely excited to learn the fine art of maintaning a good kegerator.
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
John
