Press the wings down as far as they will go and turn them then to the left. If you look at the side of the coupler you will see the channel that the coupler usually travels when tapping, the rivets are what direct it's travel point. You need to push it below that channel to remove it. Push down hard when turning it to travel beyond where it will usually go and then pull up. If it won't come apart for you put it in some hot water and try again. No need for any special tools
