The adapter should be under $20, whereas a quality regulator will cost you at least double that...

Once again, check with your gas supplier to see what valve is on the cylinders of beer gas they supply. If it is the CGA-320 valve then you can just use your existing regulator... If they supply tanks with the CGA-580, then you will need the adapter or another regulator.

BTW - you cannot have an Aluminum cylinder filled with beer gas, the pressures of nitrogen / mixed gas are too high for Al cylinders, so beer gas bottles will always be steel cylinders. Your gas supplier can give you more info.
