Kegs are usually stored at 38-40 at beer distributors. from the time it is put in the vehicle, driven home, put in the kegerator, it is no longer below 40 deg. It takes hours to bring temp back down to 38 deg.If you don't wait, you will have foam. Releasing pressure will not help. This time of year, I tell bar owners to try not to run out of beer, because if they get a keg delivered in the morning, don't plan on using that keg at least until the evening or even tomorrow.
