There's a HUGE thread on this page concerning this model. I'd suggest reading through it and make your decision from that. It's certainly not as good as a commercial unit, but with some relatively cheap mods it can be made to run perfectly. I'm not sure about holding 2 1/4 barrels, even slims. Maybe 2 1/6 barrels...
