thanks for your help. I priced a johnson controls unit, and think i might go this route, but i guess theres no harm in seeing if i can get a therm from a junked fridge to work first. Also, im not sure what is meant by "sealed bulb" type thermostat. I looked all over the inside of the freezer and cant find where the thermometer is, so if i do get a new thermostat, i guess ill have to carefully drill through the back to house the thermometer.. any other suggestions?
