Default Issue with a "G" coupler.

I recently purchased a half keg of Anchor Steam. To my surprise, I needed a G coupler instead of a D coupler which fits a 1/6 of a keg of Anchor Steam. Kinda lame... anyways.

I installed the new G coupler today and wasn't able to get beer to flow through my beer line. Something wasn't pressurized properly, or something. I would only here and see a leak through the part of the coupler where you help regulate/balance your c02 level (the circular pin that you pull to release c02 pressure).

Does anyone know what I am having this problem? I have plenty of c02 and have it set at about 12 psi.

I get a small but steady amount of beer foam through this little hole where the pin sits.

One last question: I had a party pump hooked up to this for about 5 days. It stayed in the freezer at 36 degrees this entire time. I understand that beer will go bad faster when there is a party pump attached as opposed to a coupler. Did I hurt the beer?

Thanks!
