That makes sense because the OEM setup is pulling air front to back across the cooling coils on the botton of the fridge. The coils should be clean & free of dust & fuzz for max efficiency. This however mainly affects the cooling ability of the refrigeration unit itself. Cleaner = shorter cycle time . Dirty = longer.
It has minimal effect on actual evetual internal temp. Make sure your coils are clean & try the blue ice thing.
I fiddled with the thermo on my unit, but everytime I tweaked it, the temp swing & settings changed considerably. Bear in mind I have a crappy Haier mini fridge unit & yours may have an internal f a c to ry fan. You still don't say what it is.
